Why Give to Summer on the Hill?

Summer on the Hill is the only enrichment program that works with Bronx and upper Manhattan public school students from the end of 2nd grade through high school. SOH, a 501 (c)3 program, is supported by generous individuals and private and corporate foundations. All contributions to SOH are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.soh-tax-exempt2pgs

All contributions to SOH make a difference to the program!

The list presented below is just a sample of what your contributions to SOH can pay for:

  • A contribution of $100 helps pay for novels, language arts workbooks, and science kits from Delta Education for the Grade 3-8 program.
  • A contribution of $400 helps SOH offer individual guidance on school choices to one Grade 3-8 student. As a result of our placement efforts, SOH students have been admitted to excellent schools, including the George Jackson Academy, De La Salle Academy, Eleanor Roosevelt HS, Horace Mann, and Riverdale.

  • A contribution of $750 sponsors the participation of one student in SOH’s High School Program, which offers free SAT prep classes, college trips, and college admissions workshops.
  • A contribution of $3,000 sponsors the participation of one Grade 3-8 student in our year-round program (six weeks in summer, 16 Saturdays during the academic year) . The program includes accelerated language arts, math, and science classes taught by excellent teachers, and instruction in the arts and sports.
