Criteria

Summer on the Hill has academic, geographic, and needs-based criteria. We welcome academically promising applicants who are nominated by their current public school teachers. SOH does not accept independent applications for admission.  Additionally, applicants must live in the Bronx or in Manhattan above 96th Street. Within our population, the average income for a family of four is $42,000 per year.
 
Students who are nominated to Summer on the Hill are self-motivated, and are recognized for all of the following attributes:
 
- superior skills in all subject areas
- ability to collaborate with peers 
- openness to new experiences
- excellent conduct
