Admissions
Each fall, SOH mails application packets to every public elementary school in the Bronx and every public elementary school in Manhattan above 96th Street. The school may nominate up to five students to apply to SOH, whose families then begin the admissions process.

| - | Participating in an Admissions Review Session in order to interact in a classroom environment with our faculty |
| - | Participating in a parent/child interview with a member of the admissions staff so that we can meet the candidate and his or her family |
Students’ families are required to submit tax information and a financial statement. The admissions staff carefully reviews all applications and information about each applicant. SOH’s acceptance rate is 17%.
Although the admissions process is long, we believe it is important to take the time to know our young candidates through a variety of means. The process has brought hundreds of wonderful children to SOH!
