About Us
Summer on the Hill is more than a summer program! We work with promising New York City public schoolchildren (grades 3-12) in small classes throughout the year.
The six-year, Grade 3-8 Program consists of:
- Six-week summer sessions of stimulating academic classes and instruction in computers, musical theatre, swimming, tennis, and visual arts. An overnight to the John Dorr Nature Laboratory is a summer highlight.
- A school year program of 18 Saturdays of classes in language arts, math, and science. Students read lasting works of literature, master math operations, and engage in science discussions and labs.
- The Director of Recruitment, Admissions & Placement advises students in 3rd grade and above, and their families, on applying to college preparatory schools.
The Post-Placement Program attracts 50-70 students (grades 9-12) yearly. The Director of Post-Placement & Mentors schedules SAT prep classes, supervises mentors, and refers students to internships, jobs, community service projects, scholarships, and enrichment opportunities throughout New york City.
